Over 18 lakh candidates have registered for NEET-UG 2022, a significant increase over last year’s enrollment

NEET-UG 2022: This year, the number of registrations for the medical entrance exam NEET surpassed 18 lakh, a considerable increase of over 2.5 lakh from 2021. According to official data, over 18.72 lakh candidates have registered for the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET), with over 10.64 lakh women and 8.07 lakh men.

On July 17, the pan-India exam will be held in 13 languages. The NEET-undergraduate test was held on September 12 last year, with over 95% of enrolled applicants taking part. The exam, which was held at 3,858 locations, attracted over 15.44 lakh participants.

At least 8.70 lakh students had qualified out of this group. This year’s applicants include 771 foreigners, 910 non-resident Indians, and 647 holders of an Overseas Citizen of India card.

The most candidates have chosen English as their exam medium, followed by Hindi and Tamil. NEET-UG is the entrance exam for Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery (MBBS), Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS), Bachelor of Ayurveda, Medicine and Surgery (BAMS), Bachelor of Siddha Medicine and Surgery (BSMS), Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS), Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS), and Bachelor of Homeopathic Medicine and Surgery (BHMS) and BSc (H) Nursing programmes.
