For the past few days, the debate surrounding the postponing of the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) PG 2022 has dominated social media. There’s a potential that the announcement of the exam’s postponement will be announced soon.
Many students have written to the Centre and the Ministry of Health, seeking that the NEET PG 2022 exam be postponed. By agreeing to hear the case for a deferment of the exam, the Supreme Court has given these students a ray of hope.
On May 13, the Supreme Court will hear a petition filed by medical students seeking a postponement of NEET PG 2022. Students are asking the Centre to postpone the exam since it conflicts with the NEET PG 2021 counselling schedule, which is already underway.
Justice DY Chandrachud will preside over the Supreme Court bench hearing the NEET PG 2022 postponement case. On May 13, the final decision on the postponing of the medical entrance exam will be made.
Medical students from around the country have been requesting with Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya, and the central government to delay the NEET PG 2022 exam by a few weeks. Students have also been promoting the exam dates on social media.
The NEET PG 2022 medical test has not been postponed as of yet, and will take place on May 21, as per the official schedule. The National Board of Examinations (NBE) also clarified a bogus notice claiming that the exam had been postponed.
“It has come to the notice of NBEMS that some unscrupulous elements are circulating false and bogus information using spoofed notices in the name of NBEMS,” the NBE said.
The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare (MoHFW) decided not to postpone the NEET PG 2022 exams in a meeting chaired by Union Health Minister Mansukh Mandaviya on April 30.
