U19 World Cup: Another honor for Yash Dhull for becoming the champion, also became the captain of ICC 'Most Valuable Team'

Indian Under-19 team captain Yash Dhul has been named the captain of its 'Most Valuable Team' by the International Cricket Council (ICC). The top-12 players who played in the Under-19 World Cup 2022 have been included in this team. On Saturday (February 5) under the captaincy of Yash Dhul, the Indian team defeated England in the final. Team India was successful in winning the Under-19 World Cup for the fifth time.

The 12 players selected by the ICC are from eight different countries. Apart from Yash, India's all-rounder Raj Bawa and spinner Vicky Ostwal have been included. In the pace attack, England has been named Josh Bowden, Pakistan's Avesh Ali, and Bangladesh's Rippon Mandal. Apart from Vicky Ostwal, the responsibility of the spin department has been given to England captain Tom Prest and Sri Lanka's Dunith Velalage.

South Africa's Dewald Brevis has been named Player of the Tournament. Right-handed batsman Brevis has scored 506 runs in six matches. He became the second batsman in the history of this tournament to score more than 500 runs. Before him, India's legendary batsman Shikhar Dhawan had scored more than 500 runs. 18-year-old Brevis broke Dhawan's record. The Indian opener had scored 505 runs in 2004. Apart from batting, Brevis did well in bowling. He also took seven wickets.

The ICC had included commentators Samuel Badree, Natalie Germanos, match referee Graeme Labroi and journalist Sandipan Banerjee in the selection committee for team selection. Dhul scored 229 runs in the tournament. He impressed everyone with his captaincy. Yash Dhul put pressure on the opposition team by using the right bowlers at the right time.

Raj Bawa performed all-rounder. He scored 252 runs. This includes an innings of 162 runs against Uganda. Bawa was adjudged the player of the match against England in the final. He took five wickets for 31 runs in the final. At the same time, Vicky Ostwal took 12 wickets in six matches. He took five wickets for 28 runs against South Africa.
