Emirates T20 League: Mumbai Indians and Kolkata bought two teams, players from India can also join

Emirates Cricket Board is going to start a new T20 league from next year. It will be very similar to IPL and it is also being called Mini IPL. There will be a total of six teams in this league. Most of these teams have been bought by the same group, which are associated with IPL in some way or the other. Groups that bought teams from Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders, and Delhi Capitals in IPL have bought teams in this league. This league will start in the month of January next year. BCCI can also allow Indian players to play in this league. If this happens, it will be the first time that India's men's players will officially join a league of any board other than the BCCI and the ICC.

The organizers of this league also talked to the owners of Chennai Super Kings, but at the last minute, the owners of Chennai decided to stay away from this league and did not buy any team. According to the news of Times of India, the owners of the rest of the IPL teams are also associated with this league.

Who owns six Emirates teams?

Apart from the owners of Mumbai Indians, Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals in the Emirates T20 League, Kapri Global and Glazer Family have also bought teams. Both these groups had recently bid to buy the team in the IPL. Apart from this, the owners of Sydney Sixers have also bought a team in this league. The outline of this league has also been prepared by Sundar Raman, former CEO of IPL. The ownership of this league will be with Emirates Cricket Board. The ICC has also recognized it. Soon the owners of this league will be officially announced and with this, the Glazer family will officially enter the cricket world.

A strong relationship between BCCI and ECB Cricket Board

The Indian Cricket Board has not yet allowed its players to play in any other board's T20 or T10 league. However, this decision can be changed for the Emirates Cricket Board. The relationship between these two boards is very strong. The ECB recently hosted two seasons of the IPL and after that, the T20 World Cup 2021 was also hosted by the BCCI. Now Emirates Cricket Board is confident that the Indian Cricket Board will allow its players to play in this league.
